We had a good night last night. We left the girls at home with S in charge and we were off to Target. We stopped to get gas and when we were leaving the car wouldn’t crank. Uh-Oh! Justin got out, raised the hood, wiggled the battery cable, asked me to try cranking it and Voila! So we continued on and when we got off the exit for Target, the car cut off in mid-go…..as to say ‘while is was running’ or driving or whatever. So, Justin repeated the procedure of wiggling the battery cables and trying to tighten them down. We didn’t have anymore problems but when I called Dad to ask what it could possibly be he said that he thinks it is the battery cables (or I imagine, the connection of the cables) and to take it to some place like Auto Zone and have them test the battery and the alternator to make sure.
After the car incident, we went to Sonic for dinner and then to Michaels and then Target and then to WalMart before going home before 10pm which is unusual.
I didn’t buy the Crocs with my birthday money. I bought a new pocket book and a book. Typical LOL
The pocket book is by Cherokee (I think this is Target’s brand) and it is a backpack style. Not normally something I would like but I did like this one. It is black with lots of pockets and it came with an umbrella. That’s what sold it for me…The Umbrella. Every time I get an umbrella it either gets lost or broken and not by Me or Justin so I will just leave it at that.
The book I bought is: Wicked by Gregory Maguire. It is the “Wizard of Oz” told from the perspective of The Wicked Witch of the West before the house kills her sister. It looks very interesting and I have been eyeing it for quite some time. The sequel “The son of a Witch” came out a couple of years ago and I think I will be reading that as well….eventually.
After everyone was in bed I broke the air conditioner in our bedroom…..only temporarily though. The thing is old and the button on the front have been sticking and Justin was cold and he tried to turn the temp on it from 66 to 72 and the up button wouldn’t work….none of the buttons worked, not even the on/off button. So when he called me in from the living room I thought he was trying to turn it off so I unplugged it. HAHAHA Wrong thing to do. When I plugged it back up, it wouldn’t come on. So we had to dig the fans out of the closet (aka “Official Disaster Area”), clean them and put them in places where they would do the most good.
That machine has done this shit before and all you had to do was wait about 30 minutes and it would right itself. Not this time. So we go to bed….wait…I went to bed as Justin sometimes has bouts of insomnia – he stayed up. When he went to bed VERY late, he tried it one last time and it came on. YEAH! It coming on actually woke me up because the room was so quiet.
So, all is well now and the girls are getting ready to go with my Dad (their Pappaw) to the Mountain State Fair and then maybe to the rescheduled football game.
